The County Cool Down

September 27 - 29th, 2019 in Cherry Valley, Prince Edward County

Sometimes beauty is close to home.

This intimate September getaway will find us nestled in the nearby farmland and forests of Prince Edward County, Ontario. As the seasons shift, so do our personal rhythms. Synchronizing ourselves with nature can be as simple as letting it in. With Autumn, we welcome the harvest, and receive clarity from the wind’s cooler caress.

The intention of this weekend retreat is to feel and allow the elemental space within ourselves. Where do we feel joy and abundance?  Where are we in need of nurture?

Carefully sequenced yoga classes will deepen awareness and soften resistance. Ethically cultivated, deliciously prepared foods will enliven and nourish. Artfully selected wines will kindle delight and togetherness.

Jaimée Horn is known for her elegant sequencing and hands-on adjustments. Her classes feature a paced balance of engaging movement, healing stillness and conscious breath work. Mornings will awaken us with honey-flow vinyasa, and the afternoons will wind down with guided self-massage, yin and restful restorative postures.

Adam Bolton, our chef, knows that the ritual of eating can connect us to the feeling of being nourished and cared for. His joy is to gather people together around wholesome food and shared experiences. The creativity in Adams’s kitchen tells the story of local farms and producers, and his dishes are a flavourful celebration of each season’s bountiful cycle.

Elizabeth Davies is an expert sommelier whose down-to-earth approach will help us distinguish what we love in a wine. Drinking wine with Elizabeth is relaxed and accessible. Her humour and expertise will guide us through some of the County’s finest wines, and her pairings will complement our Saturday evening dinner. For more:
