Chocolate Oat Bliss Balls

One of our favourite things to do in Costa Rica (besides play in the ocean and practice yoga) was eat. Bliss balls quickly became a staple. Here’s a decadent recipe that is good for you too!!


 Ingredients:

2 cups oats (quick or old fashioned, both work)

1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut

1/2 cup raw sugar

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup almond milk

1/2 cup almond butter

Pinch of sea salt

Nuts, seeds and dry fruit of your choice (optional) * I like pumpkin seeds & goji berries.


Instructions:

Mix oats, coconut and any nuts, seeds or dried fruit together in a large bowl and set aside.

Put all remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a low boil over medium heat.

Reduce heat and stir for one minute, until the almond butter has completely softened and you have a smooth and chocolatey sauce.

Remove from heat and pour over the oat mixture. Stir to combine.

Drop in teaspoon-sized balls on waxed paper and let cool.

Store in the fridge.
